An unstable air mass is temporarily affecting the region, bringing rain and isolated thunderstorms to parts of Cyprus today.
The weather will initially be mainly clear before becoming partly cloudy in some areas. During the afternoon, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected, mainly over the mountains, inland areas and possibly the southeast.
Winds will initially be variable and light at 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 28C inland and along the coasts, and 18C in the higher mountains.
Tonight
Conditions will be mainly clear tonight, although increased cloud cover is expected locally.
Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, and southeasterly along the northern coast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to 16C inland, around 18C along the coasts and 9C in the higher mountains.
Thursday
Thursday will begin mainly clear, with increasing cloud cover developing gradually.
Isolated showers are possible, mainly over the mountains.
Friday and Saturday
The weather will be mainly clear on Friday and Saturday, although periods of locally increased cloud cover are expected.
Temperatures will gradually rise, returning to around the seasonal average.
