Heat Persists as Temperatures Stay Above Seasonal Average

Temperatures remain above normal levels, with mostly clear skies expected and a chance of isolated showers in mountainous areas.

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear, however around midday and early afternoon there will be locally increased cloud cover, which may give isolated showers in mountainous areas. Winds will blow mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, initially light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to locally moderate. Temperatures will rise to around 37°C inland, 29°C on the west coast, around 33°C on the rest of the coasts and 26°C in higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slight. Temperatures will drop to around 23°C inland, as well as along the south and east coasts, 21°C on the west and north coasts and 16°C in higher mountainous areas.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear. On Friday, the weather will remain mostly clear, however around midday and early afternoon there will be locally increased cloud cover, which may give isolated showers in mountainous areas.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly over the three-day period and will remain slightly above the average climatological values.
