Police are focusing their investigation into the disappearance of 61-year-old Olga Vasilyeva on two key locations as authorities pursue a case now being treated as a murder investigation, according to information obtained by Politis.
Investigators and forensic officers are carrying out extensive searches at the home of the 43-year-old suspect, where his vehicle is also located, while parallel examinations are under way in a remote area of Moni, where the last signal from the woman's mobile phone was reportedly recorded.
The searches in Moni are considered particularly significant, as investigators seek to reconstruct the woman's final movements and uncover evidence that could help solve the case.
At the same time, considerable emphasis is being placed on the forensic examination of the suspect's vehicle and residence, where authorities believe critical evidence may emerge.
The 43-year-old remains in custody to facilitate investigations. According to information previously reported, he is alleged to have purchased airline tickets for travel abroad shortly after police publicised the disappearance of the 61-year-old woman.
Olga was initially reported as a missing person following her disappearance. However, evidence gathered during the investigation led authorities to open a homicide inquiry.
The 61-year-old has not yet been found, and investigations continue at full intensity at the two locations now at the centre of the probe.
