The Larnaca port and marina project must proceed as planned and without delay, Angelos Hadjicharalambous, president of the Larnaca District Self-Government Organisation (EOA), said on Sunday. In a statement following the latest developments and the transport minister’s pledge that the project will be completed in line with the agreed road map, Hadjicharalambous said he was awaiting further information on how the issue that had arisen was settled. It must be made clear, he said, how a problem that only a few days ago appeared difficult and could have posed a serious obstacle to the project’s delivery was overcome, so as to ensure that political decisions and timetables are respected. Any delay in implementing the project cannot be accepted for any reason, Hadjicharalambous said.
