Police were called to a private school in Nicosia on Monday morning after an email was received claiming that an explosive device had been placed on the premises.
According to police, the message was received at around 8.25am and contained a reference to a bomb inside the school grounds.
Police search finds nothing suspicious
Officers were dispatched to the school and carried out the necessary searches and security checks.
Nothing suspicious was found during the examinations and authorities determined that the threat was a hoax.
Pupils return to classrooms
Once the checks were completed, pupils returned to their classrooms and the school programme resumed normally.
Police are continuing investigations into the case.
