President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman are scheduled to hold their next meeting under United Nations auspices on Tuesday, 27 October, at 9am, according to the Cypriot government.

The date and time were announced by Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis in a post on X, which also confirmed that the two leaders will participate in a series of joint engagements following their talks.

Meeting under UN auspices

The meeting will take place as part of ongoing UN-facilitated contacts between the two sides.

According to Letymbiotis, Christodoulides and Erhurman will first hold their bilateral meeting before proceeding to a number of bicommunal engagements.

Joint discussions with technical committees

Following their meeting, the two leaders will hold a joint session with the Technical Committees on Youth and Cultural Heritage.

The committees form part of the bicommunal framework aimed at promoting cooperation and confidence-building between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities.

Engagement with civil society representatives

Christodoulides and Erhurman will also meet members of the Coordinating Committee of the Civil Society Advisory Body.

The engagement is intended to support ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two communities through joint initiatives and dialogue.

Focus on bicommunal cooperation

The planned meetings are expected to focus on areas where cooperation has already developed through shared projects and initiatives.

The contacts form part of broader efforts to encourage interaction and collaboration between the two communities across a range of sectors.
