Holy Saturday will begin with localised low cloud in places, with isolated showers possible in western and northern areas. Cloud cover at mid and high levels will increase through the day, with further isolated light showers likely at times. Winds will blow from the south-west to north-west, initially light to moderate at force 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening to moderate and locally strong along the coasts at force 4 to 5 Beaufort. Seas will be generally slight to moderate. Temperatures will reach around 20°C inland and along the western and northern coasts, around 21°C along the southern and eastern coasts, and around 11°C at the highest mountain elevations.

Saturday evening will see localised cloud increase, with isolated showers expected to develop across western, northern and eastern areas. Winds will ease to south-westerly to north-westerly at force 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will remain generally slight, gradually calming to slight or smooth across the south and east. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 8°C inland, around 12°C along the western and northern coasts, around 11°C elsewhere on the coast, and around 4°C at the highest elevations.

Easter Sunday and beyond

Easter Sunday will see intermittent localised cloud, with isolated showers possible in the morning across western, northern and eastern areas. From midday onwards, developing cloud is expected to produce isolated showers, mainly over the mountains and across southern and eastern parts of the island.

Easter Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be mainly clear with temporarily increased local cloud. From Tuesday, dust is expected to be suspended in the atmosphere at intervals. Temperatures on Sunday are not expected to change significantly, remaining slightly below seasonal norms, but will rise gradually through to Tuesday, returning to near or just above average for the time of year.
