A weak low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus on Monday, bringing mostly cloudy skies, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Rain will first appear along the coasts, later spreading inland and to mountainous areas. On the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or snow is possible. Winds will blow moderate to strong along the coasts, and the sea will become slightly rough. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by the end of the day, with clearer weather prevailing from Tuesday.

Today, skies will remain mostly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms, initially along coastal areas and later across inland and mountainous regions. On the highest Troodos peaks, sleet or snow may occur. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening along the coasts to moderate or strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will start calm to slightly rough, becoming generally slightly rough later. Temperatures will reach 17°C inland, around 18°C on the coasts and 8°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, skies will turn partly cloudy with possible isolated showers in the mountains. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest Troodos peaks. Winds will remain mainly northeasterly, moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 8°C inland, around 10°C on the coasts and 3°C in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be generally clear. Temperatures will remain close to average climatological values until Wednesday, with a slight rise expected on Thursday.
