Two People And Dog Rescued From Collapsed Building In Germasogeia

Two people and a dog have been rescued from the rubble of a collapsed apartment building in Germasogeia, according to the Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis.

In a post on X, Kettis said the incident occurred at 13:47 on Saturday, when a two-storey residential building on Aeschylou Street collapsed.

He confirmed that two trapped individuals and a dog were pulled from the debris.

Twelve staffed fire service vehicles were deployed, along with teams from fire stations in Limassol, specialist search and rescue units from the Cyprus Fire Service, and a drone unit.

Other agencies also responded, including the Civil Defence with drone teams and structural support units, the ambulance service, the Limassol District Local Government Organisation, the police, the Germasogeia Municipality, the Limassol District Administration with a civil engineer, and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

Emergency services continue to assist with the response and assessment at the scene.
