Former MEP Dimitris Papadakis, now a parliamentary candidate for ALMA, filed an official police complaint on Friday against journalist and author Makarios Drousiotis. He alleges that Drousiotis published false news and fabricated messages.

Papadakis claims that posts on social media showed supposed exchanges between him and former judge Michalis Christodoulou, which he says are entirely made up.

“I have never communicated with him nor exchanged any messages,” Papadakis stated, describing the posts as “fake and fabricated.” He urged authorities to summon Drousiótis immediately to hand over all material for scientific and judicial analysis.

To assist the investigation, Papadakis voluntarily submitted his phones for forensic examination, appointing an independent expert to report findings directly to the police. He emphasised that the mandate ensures objectivity and independence in the analysis of all electronic data and cloud services linked to his devices.

Papadakis also confirmed that all his public statements on the matter can be used in the investigation, reinforcing that he has never had any contact with Christodoulou and that the messages posted by Drousiótis are fabricated.
