Paphos Mayor Clears Personal Belongings From City Hall as Police Investigation Continues

Interior Ministry confirms Phedonas Phedonos has been placed on suspension pending the outcome of the investigation

Police investigations into the case involving Phedonas Phedonos, Mayor of Paphos, are ongoing, according to statements by Police Communications Branch officer Marina Christodoulidou.

Police investigation under way

Speaking to reporters, Christodoulidou said the investigative work remains in progress. Asked when any individual may be called to give a statement, she clarified that this is a matter solely for the investigators handling the case, who assess the evidence and determine the course of the investigation.

When questioned about the nature of the offences under investigation, she confirmed that police are examining serious criminal allegations, without providing further details.

Regarding the possibility of an arrest, she said this would depend on the investigative process and the decisions of the appointed investigative team.

Meanwhile, according to information obtained by Politis, Mr Faidonos visited Paphos City Hall on Wednesday afternoon together with his wife in order to collect his personal belongings. Police officers were present outside the municipal building at the time.

Suspension pending outcome of probes

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Mayor of Paphos has been placed on suspension until the completion of the investigations into his case, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
