Christmas Payments Roll Out As Benefits And Pensions Are Credited

Multiple allowances and December pensions, including the 13th payment, are deposited from today under the government’s holiday support measures

The payment of extraordinary Christmas benefits to vulnerable groups began on 10 December, with a large number of allowances being credited today.

The Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare announced that the 2025 Christmas Bonus and all main social benefits started being paid from 10 December, following a decision by the Council of Ministers on 3 December. Around 65,000 families are expected to benefit, with the total cost exceeding €17 million.

Payments Already Made

On 10 December, the following benefits were paid:

  • Child benefit

  • Monthly single-parent family allowance

  • Monthly discretionary allowance to veterans and widows of veterans of the Second World War

On 12 December, payments were made for:

  • Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI)

  • Monthly public assistance allowance

Benefits Paid Today And In The Coming Days

Today, the extraordinary public assistance allowance is being paid.

On 16 December, the following allowances will be credited:

  • Allowance under the low-income pensioners support scheme

  • Allowance for beneficiaries of the honorary allowance scheme for mothers of large families

  • Severe mobility disability allowance

  • Care allowance for persons with paraplegia or tetraplegia

  • Blind persons’ grant

  • Mobility allowance

On 17 December, payments will be deposited to the bank accounts of:

  • Low-income pension allowance recipients

  • Beneficiaries of child benefit in families with three or more children

  • Single-parent family allowance recipients

  • Beneficiaries of the honorary allowance scheme for mothers of large families

  • Recipients of the enclaved persons’ allowance

The allowance for enclaved and resettled persons will also be paid on 17 December.

Who Is Eligible For The Christmas Bonus

According to the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare:

  • Guaranteed Minimum Income and Public Assistance recipients receive an amount equal to 80% of the family’s basic needs

  • Low-income pension allowance beneficiaries receive an amount equal to their December allowance, with a minimum of €100

  • Beneficiaries of the honorary allowance for mothers of large families receive €100

  • Families receiving child benefit for three or more children receive €100 per family

  • Single-parent families receive €100 per family

  • Enclaved persons receive an amount equal to their December 2025 allowance

  • Children of enclaved and resettled persons attending kindergarten, primary school or gymnasium in the occupied areas receive an amount equal to their December 2025 allowance

Pensions Also Paid Today

At the same time, the Ministry of Labour announced that today the following payments are credited to beneficiaries’ accounts:

  • Social Insurance Fund pensions

  • Social Pension

  • Special increase of the Statutory Pension (Honorary Allowance) for December 2025

  • The 13th pension payment

Special monthly pensions paid by the Relief Fund for Victims for December 2025 are also credited today, including the Christmas allowance and the one-off six-month honorary allowance.

All amounts are deposited into beneficiaries’ bank accounts on Monday, 15 December 2025.
