Possible Data Breach Under Investigation at Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre

Authorities notified after signs of system intrusion; centre says operations remain unaffected

An investigation is underway into a possible data breach affecting the systems of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, which has stressed that no patient has been affected and that its operations continue as normal.

According to the centre, indications of a potential system intrusion were detected on 1 December, prompting immediate notification of the Digital Security Authority (DSA).

At the same time, cooperation was activated with a specialised cybersecurity firm for technical investigation and support, while the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection was also informed.

The incident is currently under examination in order to determine the exact nature and extent of the breach.

The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre affirms that all necessary protective measures are in place and that its services are operating without disruption.
