Security Camera Captures Vandalism at Limassol Towers Parking Lot

Police examine CCTV footage after an elderly man damages approximately 20 vehicles.

The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation after a man systematically vandalised around 20 vehicles parked in a private underground parking lot in Limassol. Residents and vehicle owners discovered the widespread damage on Friday morning.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Thursday, at approximately 23:55, in the underground parking facilities of residential towers located on John F. Kennedy Avenue.

Systemic damage recorded

According to reports published by RoadReportCY based on accounts from residents and affected vehicle owners, the perpetrator was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV). The footage shows an older man wearing gloves moving between the parked cars.

The security video captures the suspect systematically smashing car windows, side mirrors and windscreen wipers across a large number of vehicles.

Investigation underway

Vehicle owners only realised the extent of the destruction the following morning when they went to their cars, immediately notifying the Cyprus Police and their respective insurance companies.

Detectives from the Limassol CID are currently analyzing the retrieved CCTV footage in an effort to identify the suspect and establish the motive behind the targeted attack.
