The Cyprus men’s national football team will enter a new phase over the next two years as it adopts new kits produced by adidas through the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme.
The team is expected to wear the new kits for the first time during international friendly matches scheduled for June.
UEFA programme supporting national teams
Ten national football associations that are members of UEFA are participating in the programme.
According to UEFA, the organisation and adidas have joined forces to provide new kits to several European national teams. The initiative ensures that participating teams compete with high-quality match and training equipment tailored to reflect their football culture and history.
The programme, launched in 2007, supplies equipment and training gear to national associations and helps ensure access to professional-level kit for smaller federations.
Ten associations included
For the next two seasons, the national teams of Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Malta and San Marino will wear specially designed adidas kits developed in cooperation with their respective football associations.
The UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme plays an important role in supporting national federations by funding access to high-performance equipment tailored to their needs.
Adidas was selected following a tender process that assessed several criteria, including product quality, cost, customisation capabilities and experience in delivering similar programmes.
Participating federations also benefit from adidas’s exclusive Locker Room design service, which provides multiple options for designing and ordering customised team kits.
