Asset declarations submitted by current and former members of President Nikos Christodoulides’ government reveal significant disparities in wealth, following the cabinet reshuffle last December.
The statements, published on the official website of the parliamentary committee responsible for oversight, provide a detailed breakdown of movable and immovable assets, including properties, deposits, investments and liabilities. For those who have left office, comparative data is also available, showing changes since their initial declarations upon assuming duties.
Marinos Mousiouttas is the only new minister who did not submit a fresh declaration, having already filed a full statement in 2024 during his tenure as an MP.
At the top of the list is George Papanastasiou, with a net worth exceeding €3.1 million, rising to nearly €4.7 million at family level. His portfolio includes multiple properties across different cities, substantial bank deposits and investments, with relatively low borrowing compared to total assets.
Klea Papaellina also ranks among the wealthiest, declaring personal net assets of €1.17 million and €4.82 million at family level. Her holdings include a large number of properties, around 30 of which are located in the occupied areas, alongside significant deposits in both domestic and foreign banks.
Costas Fytiris follows with a net worth of €1.26 million, primarily driven by high-value real estate. His liabilities amount to approximately €180,000.
Mid-range declarations
Marios Hartsiotis falls into the mid-range category, reporting net assets of €713,633. His holdings include properties in Cyprus and Greece, as well as vehicles, while his loans exceed €183,000. His declaration also indicates an increase in wealth compared to previous years.
Yiannis Panayiotou records net assets of €469,672, largely tied to property valued at around €619,000. However, loans of roughly €210,000 significantly reduce his overall position.
Marilena Evangelou reports net assets of €394,931, with family wealth exceeding €1 million. Her case stands out due to the absence of recorded loans, alongside property ownership and notable bank deposits.
Negative net position
Neophytos Charalambides presents the most challenging financial picture, with a negative net worth of €359,960. Although he owns property and vehicles, liabilities exceeding €445,000 outweigh his assets. At family level, however, the overall financial position remains positive.
The full asset declarations are available through the parliamentary committee’s official platform.
