Israel is reassessing security measures for international airlines flying to the country following an attack involving a Flydubai flight.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a comprehensive review of security measures for international airlines operating flights to Israel following this week's attack involving a Flydubai aircraft.

According to a statement from the prime minister's office, Netanyahu instructed National Security Council director Shmuel Ben Ezra to appoint an official to conduct a detailed examination of all issues related to the security of foreign airlines flying to Israel.

The review follows an incident involving a Flydubai flight from the United Arab Emirates earlier this week.

Comprehensive assessment

The statement said the review will cover all aspects of security concerning international carriers serving Israel.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed National Security Council director Shmuel Ben Ezra to appoint a person responsible for carrying out a thorough examination of all matters related to the security of foreign airlines operating flights to Israel,” the statement said.

No further details were immediately provided regarding the scope of the review or any potential changes to existing procedures.
