A man has been executed in Iran after judicial authorities accused him of providing Israeli intelligence with information on Iranian missile facilities during the country's recent war.
"The death sentence was carried out against Hossein Pentaran, who had given Mossad information about missile facilities in Isfahan province," in central Iran, the judiciary's media outlet Mizan reported.
Judicial authorities accused Pentaran of "espionage and intelligence cooperation" on behalf of Israel. According to Mizan, the cooperation involved sensitive information about military facilities in Isfahan province.
Iranian authorities did not disclose the date of his arrest or details of his trial, but said the death sentence had been upheld by the Supreme Court.
The case had not previously been reported by Iranian media.
Iran has come under attack in two phases: first in June 2025 by Israel, and again in late February 2026, by a joint US-Israeli coalition.
Arrests and executions in the country have risen sharply since then, with Iranian authorities linking some of the cases to both the conflict and the protests that broke out earlier this year.
Iran carries out more executions than any country except China, according to human rights organisations.
