Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday of manipulating Washington and pressuring it to enter the war with Iran.
In a post on X, Araghchi contrasted Netanyahu’s remarks in Hebrew with his public praise of the US president’s leadership in English.
Claims of influence over Washington
“When speaking in Hebrew, Netanyahu openly boasts that he manipulated the US government and pressured it to start a war against Iran on Israel’s behalf,” Araghchi wrote.
“Netanyahu openly laughs about how he influenced America through 1,000 hours of airtime on US television networks,” he added.
“When speaking in English, however, he praises the US president’s leadership,” Araghchi continued, calling Netanyahu a “snake”.
War followed joint attack
Israel and the US launched a joint attack against Iran on 28 February, triggering a war in the Middle East that has killed thousands of people and caused major disruption to the global economy.
