Christos Liverdos announced that he has taken over the duties of Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia as of Friday, saying he will serve in the role until 28 June, the date set for the by-election prompted by the election of Andreas Constantinou as a DISY MP for Nicosia.
In a post on social media, Liverdos said he has formally placed himself at the disposal of DISY President Annita Demetriou and the party’s competent collective bodies, so that they can decide the procedure and method to be followed for selecting the candidate.
“Faithful to the principles of collectivity, unity and respect for democratic procedures, I will continue to work with the good of Aglantzia and our fellow citizens in mind,” he said.
He also thanked the public for their longstanding support and trust.
