Yellow Warning Issued as Inland Temperatures Reach 40°C Again

The alert will remain in force for three hours on Saturday afternoon, with vulnerable groups urged to take precautions.

 

Cyprus is facing another day of intense heat, with temperatures expected to reach 40°C inland on Saturday. The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for extremely high maximum temperatures.

The warning will be valid on Saturday, 8 August 2026, from 1pm until 4pm local time.

Members of the public are advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during the hottest hours, drink plenty of fluids and take additional precautions to protect vulnerable groups, including older people, infants and those with health conditions.
