Fuel Sales Rise 5.9% as Petroleum Stocks Fall

Fuel sales through service stations increased by 5.9% in July, while total petroleum stocks fell by 14.3% compared with the previous month, according to official data.

Fuel sales in Cyprus continued to grow in July 2026, according to figures released by the Statistical Service, with service-station sales increasing by 5.9% year-on-year.

Sales from petroleum service stations reached 66,187 tonnes during the month.

Higher fuel demand

Increases were recorded in:

  • Aviation fuel supplies (+3.2%)
  • Heavy fuel oil sales (+166.9%)
  • Light fuel oil sales (+20.1%)
  • Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) (+7.3%)
  • Petrol (+6.2%)
  • Road diesel (+5.5%)
  • Asphalt (+4.4%)

In contrast, fuel supplies to ships declined by 35.3%.

Total petroleum sales up

Total petroleum product sales reached 146,656 tonnes, representing an increase of 1.3% compared with July 2025.

Compared with June 2026, total petroleum sales rose by 13.3%.

Month-on-month increases included:

  • Aviation fuel supplies (+25.1%)
  • Road diesel sales (+13.3%)
  • Petrol sales (+10.4%)

Meanwhile, marine fuel supplies decreased by 25.9%.

Petroleum stocks decline

Total petroleum stocks at the end of July 2026 fell by 14.3% compared with the end of the previous month.

Seven-month performance

During the period January to July 2026, total petroleum product sales recorded an increase of 1.2% compared with the corresponding period of 2025.
