The Department of Forests has announced that the risk of forest fires on Sunday, 19 July 2026, will remain at Red Alert level, indicating an extreme risk of wildfire ignition and rapid spread.
The department reminded the public that causing a fire is a criminal offence under both the Forests Law and the Prevention and Suppression of Fires in the Countryside Law, carrying severe penalties.
Members of the public are being strongly urged to exercise extreme caution during outdoor activities and to avoid any actions that could ignite a fire.
Anyone who notices smoke or a fire is asked to immediately contact the Department of Forests on 1407 or the Fire Service on 112.
