A 53-year-old man found seriously injured in Ayia Napa on Sunday remains intubated in critical condition after sustaining a fractured skull and brain haemorrhage. He was transported to Nicosia General Hospital, while police are investigating the circumstances under which he was injured.
In a statement, the police communications branch said that, based on evidence under examination, officers were informed shortly before 7am that an injured person had been taken to Famagusta General Hospital.
The statement noted that “the 53-year-old was found injured on Eleftherias Street in Ayia Napa, where he was picked up and transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital”.
It added that “medical examinations revealed that he had sustained a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage”.
Due to the seriousness of his condition, “he was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition”.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, while Famagusta CID continues its inquiries.
