Vehicle in Hit‑And‑Run Incident Located, Arrest Warrant Issued for Driver

Police have located the vehicle involved in a hit‑and‑run incident that left a sixty‑five‑year‑old pedestrian injured on a motorway in Larnaca, and have issued an arrest warrant for the driver, who remains at large.

The vehicle has been taken to police headquarters for further examination.

In a previous statement concerning video footage that circulated online, police said the incident occurred at midday on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, on the motorway between the Rizoeilia and Kalo Chorio roundabouts in Larnaca.

According to police, following a road collision, a sixty‑five‑year‑old driver exited his vehicle and approached the second car to exchange details.

A police patrol arrived at the scene, but when officers approached, the driver of the second vehicle started his car and attempted to flee. As he tried to stop the vehicle, the sixty‑five‑year‑old man ended up on the windscreen as the car continued along the motorway.

At some point, the man fell onto the road surface, suffering minor injuries, including bruises and abrasions.

The driver of the second vehicle then left the scene. Police investigations are continuing to locate and arrest the suspect.
