A 65‑year‑old man was injured after clinging to the windscreen of a moving vehicle on the motorway in Larnaca on Wednesday afternoon, as police continue efforts to locate the driver who fled the scene.
According to a statement issued by the Police, the incident occurred on 6 May 2026 on the motorway between the Rizoelia and Kalo Chorio roundabouts, following a traffic collision between two vehicles.
After the collision, the 65‑year‑old driver of one vehicle approached the second car in order to exchange details, police said. A patrol vehicle arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.
“Upon seeing the members of the Police, the driver of the second vehicle started his car, attempting to leave the scene,” the police statement said.
In an effort to stop the driver from fleeing, the 65‑year‑old ended up on the windscreen of the moving vehicle, which continued along the motorway.
“At some point during the journey, the 65‑year‑old fell onto the roadway, resulting in minor injuries, specifically bruising and abrasions,” police said.
The driver of the second vehicle then abandoned the scene and remains at large.
Police said investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the driver involved.
