Police have arrested a 36-year-old man after around 23 kilograms of cannabis were found in his luggage at Larnaca Airport.
How he was caught
According to a police announcement, customs officers, acting on information from the Cyprus Narcotics Squad (YKAN), stopped the 36-year-old for a check after he arrived at Larnaca Airport from a third country.
What was found
A subsequent search of his luggage uncovered 42 black nylon packages, containing a total of approximately 23 kilograms of dried cannabis plant material.
Arrest and ongoing investigation
The 36-year-old was arrested for offences under the flagrante delicto procedure and remains in custody. Investigations into the case are continuing under the Larnaca branch of YKAN.
