President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman are due to hold a new meeting on Tuesday ahead of the visit to Cyprus of UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy María Ángela Holguín.

The meeting is scheduled for 11am at the offices of the United Nations Good Offices Mission.

As part of the gathering, the two leaders will hold a joint meeting with members of the Technical Committees on Youth and Cultural Heritage, as well as representatives of the Civil Society Consultative Body.

On Monday, President Christodoulides met Khassim Diagne, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and head of the UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus.

During the meeting, the president conveyed the government's continuing and increasing concern over what it described as violations or attempted violations of the status quo in the buffer zone by the Turkish Cypriot side.

A separate meeting between Christodoulides and Holguín is scheduled for Friday.

A joint meeting involving Christodoulides, Erhürman and Holguín has also already been arranged.
