Three ships with Turkish interests have now safely exited the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the war with Iran on February 28, according to Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

The latest vessel, the oil tanker “Ocean Thunder”, carrying crude oil loaded in Iraq and bound for Malaysia, passed through the strait safely on Sunday night and has now exited the Gulf.

Following its departure, the number of Turkish-linked vessels remaining in the area around the Strait of Hormuz has dropped to 12, while those that have requested permission to leave stand at eight.

Uraloğlu said Turkish authorities remain in contact with the foreign ministry to ensure the safe departure of the remaining ships, along with the 156 crew members on board who are seeking to leave the area.
