Iran has set out nine conditions for ending the war, according to a report published by the Kayhan newspaper, as Israel continues large-scale strikes on targets in Tehran.
The report, cited by the Israeli outlet Yedioth Ahronoth, outlines a series of demands attributed to Tehran. These include the full withdrawal of US forces from the Middle East and the closure of American bases in western Asia, an end to attacks against Iran, Lebanon and Tehran’s allies, and the lifting of US and UN sanctions.
The conditions also reportedly call for the release of frozen Iranian assets and the formal recognition by the United States and Israel as “aggressors”, alongside the payment of compensation.
Further demands include Iranian control over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, an end to territorial claims by the United Arab Emirates over disputed islands, and an official declaration marking the end of the war.
According to the same report, Iran would also withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, while retaining the option to rejoin in line with its national interests.
At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces said it had completed a new wave of large-scale strikes in central Tehran. Targets included temporary command centres, weapons production facilities, ballistic missile infrastructure, air defence systems and observation positions.
The Israeli military said the strikes form part of an ongoing effort to weaken Iran’s military capabilities, following indications that Tehran had moved some command centres to mobile units after previous attacks.
