“Stairs to Freedom”, the music video created using artificial intelligence and dedicated to the memory of EOKA fighter Evagoras Pallikarides, has received another international award. The work won Best AI Music Video at the Cine Vista Oasis Film Awards.
Second award for the production
This is the second award for the production by Centurion AI Productions, which combines cinematic storytelling, artificial intelligence and power metal music. The work seeks to present the story of the EOKA liberation struggle of 1955-1959 to a younger audience, both in Cyprus and abroad.
The creators’ message
The new award was announced by the work’s creators, who expressed their satisfaction at the international recognition of their efforts.
“At the heart of this creation is Evagoras Pallikarides. His life, his poetry and his sacrifice continue to inspire, passing from generation to generation,” they said in a social media post.
Historical research and AI tools
“Stairs to Freedom” was created by Giorgos Panayiotou, founder of the Centurion AI initiative, in collaboration with director Kyriakos Dimitriou.
The work draws on historical research, archival material and modern artificial intelligence tools, with the aim of preserving and passing on historical memory through new forms of audiovisual creation.
Festival track record
The production’s first major award came from the Humro Cinema international independent film festival, where the video won Best AI Music Video as well as an honourable mention in the Best Action Drama category.
By last July, the production had already received six official selections at international film festivals and two online screenings. Festivals that selected the work include:
- Film Fest Fusion 2026
- Berlin Indie Shorts Festival 2026
- Roma Short Film Festival 2026
- New York Tri-State International Film Festival
