Cyprus-based production companies are being invited to apply for Euro Connection XIX, Europe's main coproduction platform for short films, which will take place on 2 and 3 February 2027 during the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Applications for Cyprus projects must be sent to the national correspondent, ISFF Cyprus, at isffc@rialto.com.cy, no later than 20 October 2026.
What the event offers
Now in its 19th edition, Euro Connection pairs European producers, broadcasters, distributors and financial backers around quality short film projects, with support from Creative Europe and PROCIREP. The event includes a pitch training workshop, formal pitching sessions, and one-on-one business meetings with potential coproducers. A selection of XR (extended reality) projects will also be presented as part of the forum. Organisers report that past editions have led to 147 completed films, including 78 international coproductions.
Eligibility
Projects must be short films (fiction, animation or creative documentary) of no more than 30 minutes, intended as an international coproduction, and must have secured partial funding from a third-party source, such as a development grant, broadcaster or foundation. In-kind contributions or self-financing do not count towards eligibility. Shooting or production must not begin before June 2027.
Selection and support
Each national correspondent nominates one finalist project, which is then reviewed by a European jury of three industry professionals. Up to 11 projects will be selected overall, with results announced by 2 December 2026. Selected producers receive a travel grant, four hotel nights, meals and full accreditation to the Short Film Market, and are encouraged to bring their project's director, who is also granted accreditation and accommodation.
