Autumn is finally making its presence felt in Cyprus, with a gradual drop in temperatures and the first signs of rain expected in the coming days, according to meteorological officer Andreas Chrysanthou.

Speaking to politis.com.cy, Chrysanthou said that over the weekend, the weather will be mostly fine but with intervals of increased cloud cover, especially in western and northern areas. Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages before falling further early next week, marking the coolest phase of this October so far.

Cooler Days Ahead

Tuesday is expected to be mostly clear, but from Wednesday onward isolated showers are forecast, mainly in the mountains and western parts of the island. “Towards the end of next week, we may see more rainfall, which indicates that autumn is gradually returning,” Chrysanthou noted.

Forecast In Detail

Saturday: Periods of locally increased cloud cover are expected, with isolated showers possible and a small chance of a thunderstorm around midday or later, especially in mountainous and inland areas.

Sunday and Monday: Partly cloudy conditions are likely, with brief intervals of increased clouds that could bring isolated showers. Temperatures will continue to drop gradually through Monday, reaching values close to the average for the season.
