The Chief of Police, Themistoklis Arnaoutis, has publicly congratulated police officers for a major drug operation that led to one of the largest seizures in recent years.
In a statement issued by the Police Communications Branch, Arnaoutis praised the professionalism and dedication of the officers, highlighting the work of the YKAN. The operation involved careful planning, targeted actions, and effective use of intelligence and operational resources.
According to the Chief, the operation successfully disrupted organised crime networks operating in Cyprus. He said the seizure prevented large quantities of illegal drugs from entering society and sent a clear message of zero tolerance for organised crime.
Arnaoutis emphasised that combating drugs remains a top priority for the police. He noted that illegal substances threaten young people, harm society, and undermine the country’s future.
The Chief described the success as the result of systematic work, continuous training, vigilance, and a strong sense of duty. He added that it reflects the officers’ commitment to maintaining public order, safety, and citizen protection.
He concluded by encouraging officers to continue their work with the same professionalism and determination. The statement stressed that society recognises their efforts, and police leadership fully supports them in tackling organised crime and drug trafficking.
