A number of states were assisting authorities in their investigation of a video published on social media, President Christodoulides said, as countries with experience in pertinent matters are providing know how and technical assistance in the ongoing probe, as was disclosed last week.
Asked whether the dust had settled in the wake of the political storm following the publication of the material (alluding to illegal government funding), Christodoulides said that the relevant Republic authorities were investigating, in cooperation with and supported by foreign states.
'It's very important that we see the results of this investigation,' the President commented.
The immediate aftermath of videogate saw the resignation of First Lady Philippa Karsera as chairperson of the Welfare Student Fund and Charalambos Charalambous, Director of the President's Office, who featured in the video as speaking to an alleged 'investor'.
