Fire Breaks Out at Store in Paphos

Police say the fire was deliberately set using flammable material.

A fire broke out at a store in Paphos, with police saying it was deliberately set using flammable material.

Authorities were alerted at around 8.30am and officers cordoned off the scene for examinations. The fire was initially noticed by a local resident at approximately 2am and was extinguished using a hose, without the police or Fire Service being notified.

Damage was caused to the shop’s glass display, masonry and equipment.

The Paphos CID is investigating the case.
