The Independent Anti‑Corruption Authority will issue a statement tomorrow regarding the findings of the inspection officers in relation to the book Mafia State by journalist Makarios Drousiotis.

As the Authority’s Commissioner for Transparency, Charis Poyiatzis, told CNA, the announcement to be released tomorrow will include only the technical characteristics of the inspectors’ report, namely the volume of the report, the number of supporting documents and the number of witnesses involved.

Mr Poyiatzis noted that it is currently difficult to estimate when the Authority will issue its own substantive position on the report, given the sheer volume of the material. He stressed that no information whatsoever from the investigators’ findings will be disclosed tomorrow.

It is considered certain that the Authority will publish both the outcome of the inspectors’ investigation and its own position on the matter after the parliamentary elections on 24 May.

The four members of the investigative team handling the case are Gabrielle Louise McIntyre of Australia, who heads the team, Andreas Efthymiou, Charilaos Chrysanthou and Orestis Nikita.
