Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Friday.

According to a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on “X” on Friday night, the discussion covered regional stability and the progress of diplomatic efforts. Both ministers focused on follow-up to the recent US-Iran talks held in Oman.

They emphasised the importance of maintaining dialogue, with particular attention to Iran’s nuclear programme.

The Republic of Cyprus expressed support for continued diplomacy, stating that “pursuing more diplomacy and a focus on de-escalation is essential.”
