A drone reportedly came close to the aircraft carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his departure from Moldova, according to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Speaking to Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, Støre said Zelensky's plane "almost was hit" by a drone as it was preparing for take-off, highlighting the security risks surrounding the Ukrainian leader's travels.
The Norwegian premier did not provide further details about the incident, including how close the drone came to the aircraft or the source of the information.
Oslo visit for King Harald's funeral
Zelensky travelled to Oslo to attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway, joining foreign leaders and dignitaries paying their respects to the late monarch.
He took part in the funeral procession through the Norwegian capital before leaving the country following the ceremony.
Air defence discussions
The Ukrainian president's visit also included talks with Støre, focusing on strengthening Ukraine's air defence capabilities amid continued Russian attacks.
The discussions formed part of wider efforts by Kyiv to secure additional military and defensive support from European partners.
European missile shield initiative
Zelensky's agenda reportedly also included meetings with companies involved in the Freyja initiative, a project aimed at developing a common European ballistic missile defence system.
The initiative is viewed as strategically important for Ukraine, which continues to seek closer cooperation with European partners on air and missile defence technologies.
