Nepal Floods Leave at Least 1,050 Dead, 3,916 Missing

Chinese state media report another 16 deaths and 546 people missing across the border in Tibet.

 

At least 1,050 people have died and 3,916 remain missing after severe flooding struck Nepal near its border with China last Wednesday. Nepal’s emergency management authority released the updated provisional figures on Tuesday.

Casualties reported in Tibet

Chinese state media reported a further 16 deaths and 546 missing people on the Tibetan side of the border.

The combined provisional toll therefore stands at 1,066 deaths and 4,462 people missing.
