Citizens invited to use diakivernisi.gov.cy to monitor progress and assess delivery, with Christodoulides stressing transparency and accountability as core obligations

President Nikos Christodoulides has called on citizens to monitor the government’s work in real time through the online platform diakivernisi.gov.cy, urging the public to assess the consistency between commitments and implementation. The platform is only available in the Greek language.

In a video posted on social media, the President said that in every modern state citizens are entitled to be informed about government policies, particularly those that affect their daily lives.

“Recognising this right of citizens, and as our minimum obligation within the framework of transparency and accountability, we established the institution of the annual presentation of government planning at the beginning of each year,” he said.

“It is an innovative political act that gives every citizen the opportunity to follow us, to scrutinise us and to judge us on a daily basis,” Christodoulides added.

He said the launch of the diakivernisi.gov.cy platform follows the same logic, allowing citizens, the media and interested groups to track in real time the implementation of government work, alongside other key information on public policy.

“Quickly, easily and simply,” he noted.

The President invited the public to engage actively with the platform.

“I invite you to visit diakivernisi.gov.cy, to be informed, to assess our consistency between words and actions, and through your comments and your criticism, which is welcome, to help us become even more efficient and effective,” he said.

“For us, transparency and accountability are not slogans. They are a minimum obligation to all of you. Above all, they are an act of responsibility,” he concluded.
