Paralimni Hit-and-Run Leaves Man, 29, Critically Injured

Police are searching for the driver and vehicle involved after two pedestrians were struck in the early hours of Sunday.

 

A 29-year-old man was in critical condition after a hit-and-run collision in Paralimni in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

According to police, at around 4am, a vehicle travelling along Vrysoudion Street towards the Ayia Triada roundabout struck two pedestrians, a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, under circumstances that remain under investigation.

The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision and is being sought by authorities.

Both injured pedestrians were taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital. The 28-year-old woman was treated and later discharged, while the 29-year-old man remained hospitalised in critical condition.

Famagusta traffic police are continuing investigations into the circumstances of the crash and efforts to locate the vehicle and driver involved.

Police have appealed to the public for information and urged anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the vehicle or driver to contact Famagusta Traffic Police on 23-803028, the nearest police station, or the Citizen's Line on 1460.
