Civil Defence will assist local authorities in finding temporary accommodation for residents of a Larnaca apartment building that is being evacuated after being deemed unsafe, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the support will apply to residents who have not yet secured alternative housing.
The arrangement will remain in place for a few weeks, taking into account the pressures of the tourist season, the ministry said.
The aim is to give affected residents time to make their own housing arrangements while repair work on the apartment building is completed.
