The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre is once again taking part in breast cancer awareness activities this October, with two initiatives built around the phrase "For me, pink means…". The campaign gives a voice to 31 of the centre's people and creates a space at the centre for messages of support to women facing the disease, according to an announcement by the centre.
Thirty-one voices on social media
Throughout October, the centre is giving a platform to 31 of its people with different roles and specialities. In short videos, each completes the phrase based on their own experience and daily work.
According to the centre, the 31 videos are being published throughout the month on its Facebook and LinkedIn pages, bringing together different voices to reflect the centre's shared approach to oncology care.
A wall of hope at the centre
At the same time, the centre is creating the "Wall of Hope: Celebrating Life", a space where patients, visitors and staff can leave a thought, a wish or a few words of encouragement for women facing breast cancer.
Throughout October, the wall will fill with messages of support and solidarity, conveying a simple but meaningful message: no woman needs to feel alone in facing the disease, the centre said.
Statement from the director general
Speaking about this year's initiatives, Panos Ergatoudis, Director General of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, said that every woman or man diagnosed with breast cancer has unique needs and a different experience.
He added that comprehensive oncology care concerns the person as a whole, and that this is the message "we want to convey through this year's activities".
