European University Cyprus (EUC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lovely Professional University (LPU) in India, establishing a framework for cooperation in student and staff exchanges, research and academic activities.
The agreement was signed on 12 October during the 5th Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS 2026), hosted by LPU in Punjab, India, on 12–14 October 2026. Prof. Panos Papageorgis, Vice Rector for Research and External Affairs, and Mrs Maria Christodoulou, International Affairs Coordinator represented European University Cyprus.
The MoU provides opportunities for student, faculty and administrative staff mobility, joint research and academic initiatives, and the development of articulation agreements to support international credit transfer between the two universities. The signing ceremony brought together more than 50 international academic leaders from different countries.
It is worth noting that, LPU ranks fourth among universities in India in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027. The summit brought together representatives of universities from around the world to explore how international partnerships can support research, digital transformation and inclusive education.
During the visit, the EUC delegation also held meetings with LPU’s Pro Vice-Chancellor and representatives of the Mittal School of Business, the Division of International Affairs, the School of Bioengineering and Biosciences, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, and other academic departments. Discussions focused on areas of shared interest and opportunities to translate the agreement into academic cooperation.
The partnership extends EUC’s international academic network and creates further opportunities for students and staff to engage in international learning, knowledge exchange and research.
