Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv early on Tuesday, as the Israel Defense Forces announced a new wave of strikes targeting Tehran and infrastructure linked to Hezbollah in Beirut, marking the 18th day of the war in the Middle East. At the same time, a fresh wave of drone and missile attacks targeted the United States embassy in Baghdad early Tuesday, according to Iraqi security sources.

The attack was described as the most intense since the start of the assaults. A Reuters witness reported seeing at least three drones heading toward the embassy. The C-RAM air defence system intercepted two of them, while a third struck inside the embassy compound.

Israel also carried out strikes in southern Lebanon following evacuation warnings issued to residents in targeted areas.

“We warn residents of the building marked in red on the map and neighbouring buildings: you are located near a facility used by the terrorist organisation Hezbollah. For your safety, you must evacuate immediately and move at least 300 metres away,” the Israeli military said.

Meanwhile, one person was killed by missile debris in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi, according to the emirate’s media office.

The victim was identified as a Pakistani national, the office said in a post on X.

US President Donald Trump defended recent strikes against Iran, stating that failure to act would have led to a nuclear conflict.

“If we had not carried out the attack on Iran, we would have had a nuclear war that would have escalated into a Third World War,” Trump said.
