The SafeCY mobile application has been activated, allowing citizens to identify the nearest Civil Defence shelter in real time as authorities reinforce preparedness measures in Cyprus following developments in the Middle East.

How the application works

Through the SafeCY platform, users can locate the closest available shelters based on their current position. Once location services are enabled, the application displays nearby Civil Defence shelters on an interactive map.

Users may also search manually by entering an address or postal code, making it possible to identify shelters near a home, workplace or other specific location.

Guidance and emergency information

In addition to shelter mapping, the application includes guidance and practical information intended to assist citizens during emergency situations. According to Cyprus Civil Defence, the use of digital tools strengthens the country’s early warning and response capacity.

The activation of the platform forms part of broader efforts to enhance public protection mechanisms in Cyprus during periods of regional instability.

Where to download SafeCY

The application is available via the Apple App Store and Google Play.
