The Queer Wave Cyprus LGBTQIA+ Film Festival will return to NiMAC in Nicosia from 18 to 27 September 2026, marking its seventh consecutive edition.
Hosted once again at the exhibition spaces of the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (NiMAC), the festival will present a 10-day programme of film screenings, performances and parallel events celebrating LGBTQIA+ stories, experiences and artistic expression.
Organisers say this year's edition will bring together local and international filmmakers while continuing to provide a platform for queer voices and perspectives.
Ten days of screenings and events
The festival will feature a diverse programme of films alongside performances and a range of accompanying activities.

Supporting LGBTQIA+ cinema
Organised by the non-profit Queer Wave Ltd, the festival is funded by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Department of Contemporary Culture.
Over the past six years, Queer Wave has presented more than 250 Cyprus premieres of LGBTQIA+ films from around the world, while also supporting the work of Cypriot filmmakers and artists.
Venue in the heart of Nicosia
NiMAC, which operates in collaboration with the Pierides Foundation, is housed in the restored former power station building in the historic centre of Nicosia.
It is the oldest and largest contemporary art centre in Cyprus and has hosted the festival since its inception.
