Metallica Return To Athens With Sold-Out OAKA Show

Gates, set times and entry rules announced ahead of the band’s highly anticipated concert on Saturday.

The return of Metallica to Olympic Athletic Center of Athens this Saturday is set to draw thousands of fans from Greece and abroad, with tickets selling out within two hours. Organisers have released detailed information to guide attendees ahead of the event.

The concert, scheduled for 9 May, is among the most anticipated live performances of the year in Athens, featuring a full evening programme and specific entry regulations.

Event schedule and access

According to High Priority Promotions, the venue gates will open at 16:00.

The supporting acts will take the stage in sequence, beginning with Knocked Loose at 18:00, followed by Gojira at 19:00. Metallica are expected to begin their performance at approximately 20:30.

Attendees are advised to arrive early to facilitate entry and avoid congestion.

Entry guidelines and restrictions

Organisers have outlined specific conditions regarding items permitted inside the venue, with an emphasis on safety and crowd management.

Bags must not exceed A4 size dimensions. Larger bags will not be allowed inside.

Prohibited items include weapons of any kind, sharp objects, flammable materials, drones and professional recording equipment. Glass items, metal containers and large umbrellas are also not permitted.

Portable seating, banners, flags, laser devices and pyrotechnics are banned, alongside alcohol and illegal substances. Animals are not allowed, with the exception of certified assistance animals.

The Athens performance forms part of Metallica’s international tour and highlights the city’s role as a destination for large-scale live events. With high demand reflected in the rapid sell-out, the concert is expected to attract a capacity crowd.
