So far, approximately 23,000 sheep and goats have been culled, with operations continuing today in Oroklini. In addition, 1,712 cattle have been put down. According to the latest update from senior veterinary officer Sotiria Georgiadou, culling is still pending for around 4,000 sheep and goats and 30 cattle. She noted that the number of culled animals may increase further, depending on the identification of young animals and new births within affected units.
